Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
The activities of the Women of the ELCA whose purpose is to come together for study, support, and action as a community of women called to discipleship in Jesus Christ are: to support one another, engage in ministry and action, and to promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world. Events and activities include:
- Collecting/delivering food, clothing, furniture and equipment for homeless residents at the LSSM facilities.
- Hosting parties for LSSM facility residents three times a year
- Collecting and delivering toys for children at Christmas and making quilts for needy families
- Sending cards and get well wishes to ill and hospitalized church members
- Setting up the church altar for Communion and Baptism including care for the altar equipment
- Sponsoring an annual Christmas Boutique. (Proceeds go to the church nursery and youth activities)
- Conducting Women's Sunday, a Woman of the Year Award and participating in an annual retreat
Hope Lutheran Church women of all age groups are welcome and encouraged to participate in the activities of the Women of the ELCA.
