Sunday SchoolThe Sunday School Staff is responsible for the Christian Education of children from ages 3 years and older. The staff also works to enlist and develop teachers and other leaders for the Sunday School and Christian Education programs. The activities of the Sunday School include:
Sunday School Classes Vacation Bible School Confirmation (a 3 year catechism program) First Communion preparatory class Teacher and leader training through workshops and meetings Organizing and maintaining the Sunday School Office & Resource Room Review and selection of Sunday School materials Special program celebrations such as Christmas and Rally Day Maintenance of attendance records and continual outreach programThe activities of the Sunday School impact the church, its members and the community-at-large on a daily basis. The instruction that is given to the youth of Hope Church is carried back into their families, friends and classmates. The smile on the faces of the children after the Sunday morning "Opening" as they walk to their classes tells it all.
The Sunday School Opening praises God through Music and Prayer as well as emphasizing Baptisms, Birthdays, Anniversaries and Special Offerings. Additionally, the students have been introduced to church worship through "Family Worship" Sundays and teaching them the seasons of the Church year and other Christian events.
Members, young and old, are encouraged to participate in the Sunday School Programs. People willing to teach and guide our youth, or assist in anyway with the Sunday School programs, are always needed. The Christian Education we received as a child, should be willingly and enthusiastically passed down to the children of today. Just think about those smiling faces on the children who are simply waiting for you to talk to them and who will then pass on God's message to others.
