Hope Lutheran Church Ministry Awareness

The ministries of Hope Lutheran Church are varied and many, involving and impacting the lives of church members as well as those in the community at large. To assist the congregation in becoming more familiar and to better understand these ministries, a series of articles describing them have been featured in the weekly church bulletins. Listed below is a list of committees and their ministries.

·         Member Visitation Ministry
The Member Visitation Ministry includes visitation to members and non-members.

·         Finance Committee
This committee prepares a draft budget for the succeeding year, and submits the budget to the Congregational Council and to the congregation for adoption.

·         Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
The activities of the Women of the ELCA whose purpose is to come together for study, support, and action as a community of women called to discipleship in Jesus Christ are: to support one another, engage in ministry and action, and to promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

·         Fellowship & Hospitality
This committee in conjunction with other committees plans, provides, and hosts social events and ceremonial events such as receptions for new members, catechism confirmation, Harvest Sunday dinners, and other special events.

·         Property Committee
The Property Committee is responsible for the proper care, maintenance and protection of all the assets and possessions of the congregation.

·         Youth Committee
The Youth Committee has the responsibility to identify all the youth of the congregation and to see they are integrated into the life and structure of the congregation.

·         Christian Education Committee
The Christian Education Committee oversees the schools and educational opportunities of the congregation.

·         Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee has the overall responsibility to encourage the expression of Christian faith in daily living and to educate members on the use of time, talents and treasures for the work of the Lord.

·         Sunday School
The Sunday School Staff is responsible for the Christian Education of children from ages 3 years and older.

·         Worship & Music Committee
The Worship & Music Committee has the responsibility to ensure that the worship services of God's house are conducted regularly and in accordance with the Order of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

·         Evangelism Committee
The Evangelism Committee at Hope Lutheran Church serves to reach out to the unchurched in the community, to invite them to worship with us at Hope, and therefore to hear God's Word of grace and love.

·         Community Outreach
Hope's facilities are used by other organizations providing service to our membership and the community.
